Diwali did not contribute much to the smog in Delhi! NASA finds the real culprit.

It has become fashionable to blame Diwali and the bursting of fireworks to celebrate as the reason for the bad air pollution in Delhi these days. But NASA is showing that Diwali may have contributed very less to severe air pollution in India's capital, than a worrisome practice in neighboring states. The image below shows all the places where farmers in Haryana and Punjab are burning their crops this season. Just looks like the whole two states are under fire from space. It is that insane! Coupled with wind direction towards the NCR, you get severe air pollution and smog.
