Yogi takes on reservation: UP govt. abolishes quota for SC/ST, OBC students for post-graduation courses in private medical colleges

SabrangIndia.in is reporting: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh has finally bared its anti- reservation approach.

According to a report in Sabrangindia.in, the Yogi Adityanath government, in a major policy reversal, has passed an order doing away with the quota for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in admission to post-graduate courses in private medical colleges.

It was the Mulayam Singh Yadav government which in 2006 had introduced the policy of providing quota for SC/ST and OBC students in admission for graduate and post-graduate courses in both government and private medical colleges.
